Who We Support
Compassionate CBT and Trauma Therapy for First Responders and Our Community
Healing Begins with Understanding.
We Help People Find Balance and Peace of Mind.
At Peace of Mind CBT, we offer compassionate, trauma-informed therapy for first responders as individuals and couples, their children and families, and for anyone in our community. Build resilience, healing, and lasting mental wellness with specialized CBT care across Halton, Niagara, Hamilton, and the Greater Toronto Area.
INDIVIDUALS
Compassionate support that empowers healing and resilience
First responders face unique challenges that extend far beyond the call of duty. At Peace of Mind CBT, we provide specialized care to help you build resilience and coping strategies for high-stress situations, process trauma and critical incidents, and manage the emotional weight that comes with serving others. Our approach offers confidential, stigma-free support designed to help first responders recover, reset, and strengthen their mental well-being both on and off duty.
COUPLES
Strengthening Relationships Under Pressure
Relationships can face unique challenges when one or both partners serve as first responders. At Peace of Mind CBT, we help couples navigate the stress of shift work, exposure to trauma, and emotional disconnection that can arise from demanding careers. Whether you’re a first responder partnered with a civilian or a same-sex couple both serving on the front lines, therapy provides a safe, supportive space to improve communication, rebuild trust, and strengthen your relationship under pressure. Together, we focus on fostering connection, understanding, and resilience both at home and in service.
FAMILIES
Support for the Whole Family
Behind every first responder is a family adapting to the rhythms, risks, and realities of the job. At Peace of Mind CBT, we understand how unpredictable schedules, emotional fatigue, and critical incidents can affect home life. Our therapy for families helps you navigate communication challenges, manage stress, and maintain connection and stability through it all. Whether you’re supporting a loved one returning from a difficult shift or balancing family life around an ever-changing schedule, we provide a safe, understanding space to strengthen relationships, foster empathy, and build resilience together.
PEER SUPPORT
Helping Children Feel Seen and Supported
Children of first responders often sense more than they’re told: the long hours, the worry, and the unspoken stress that comes with a parent’s service. At Peace of Mind CBT, we help children feel seen, heard, and supported by creating a safe space where they can express their thoughts and emotions. Through gentle, developmentally appropriate approaches, we provide tools to help kids cope with worry, confusion, or stress, enabling them to understand and manage the unique challenges of growing up in a first responder family. Our goal is to help children develop emotional resilience, feel connected, and know that they are never alone in their feelings.
COMMUNITY
Support for Every Story
We understand that life’s challenges look different for everyone, and no one should face them alone. Beyond our work with first responders and their families, we proudly support the broader community with compassionate, evidence-based therapy.
Our clinicians provide care for youth, young adults, couples, families, individuals, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, offering a safe and affirming space to explore personal experiences and emotions. Whether you’re coping with trauma, anxiety, depression, or relationship challenges, we help you build resilience, find balance, and regain a sense of control. At Peace of Mind CBT, your story is valued, and healing begins with being heard.
